QUICK ANALYSIS OF SUPER BOWL LIX:: Here's why I think the EAGLES will win

QUICK ANALYSIS OF SUPER BOWL LIX: Here’s why I think the EAGLES will win... They have made significant improvement since the last SB meeting 2 years ago: Their two best players in terms of AV were acquired in 2024 Free Agency: Saquon Barkley Zach Baun They drafted 4 studs in the first 2 rounds of the last 2 drafts: Jalen Carter (a real difference maker) Nolan Smith Quinyon Mitchell Cooper Dejean They acquired one of the best coordinators in the NFL: Vic Fangio (DC) There were meaningful outflows as well including: Jason Kelce Haason Reddick Fletcher Cox James Bradberry BUT overall I think this is definitely a better coached team with more talent than 2 years ago. ………………… The CHIEFS however don’t seem to be better. Maybe they aren’t as good. First of all, after a sustained period of stellar drafting, the last two drafts have been average at best. The one clear draft steal was: WR Rashee Rice - Far and away Mahomes most dangerous target. He's on an elite career trajectory. His injury in week 4 was a massive blow to the Chiefs offensive and may ultimately cost them a three-peat WR Xavier Worthy was also a solid pick and may be the best remaining weapon in the Chiefs offense but he is far from being a frontline receiver. In addition, LT Orlando Brown anchored the Chiefs O-line in the last go-round and the absence of good OT play has weakened what was a top NFL personnel group 2 years ago and forced the Chiefs to move All-Pro caliber OG Joe Thuney out to tackle to bolster this weakness. Finally, 2 years ago Travis Kelce was a terrifying matchup in the passing game and a super reliable go-to target for Mahomes. The Taylor Swift version of Travis Kelce is not nearly as formidable, and for the first time in his career, Mahomes doesn’t have a legitimate difference maker to lean on when the chips are down. ………….. So, given all of that, I like the Eagles. Sure Patrick Mahomes is the best football player that I have ever seen and it seems almost foolish to bet against him BUT it may be too much (even for him) to carry this version of the Chiefs across the finish line. Other predictions: I expect solid production from Dallas Goedert who has been very effective in the 4 games since his week 17 return (over 10 Yds / Target). Defending the TE seems like the most vulnerable link in the Chiefs pass defense. Nolan Smith has been coming on of late and his speed could be a problem for KC’s RT Jawaan Taylor. I think you’ll heat his name called before all is said and done. The Chiefs could struggle with moving the ball against this dynamic Eagles defense.
